India’s First Engine Less Train- T18, Start Trial on October 29
India’s First Engine Less Train will hit the track very soon, the trail of the train is to be scheduled on October 29, that known as “Train 18”.
The Train is made in India, with estimated cost of 100 Crore. The Train can run with the speed of 160 kmph. Driven by a self- propulsion module sans a seperate locomotive. T18 or Train 18 will come with enhanced quick acceleration.
The 16 coach prototype train without locomotive is said to cut time travel by 15 percent as compared to Shatabdi express that is known as India’s fastest and premier train for more than 25 years.
The train 18 is developed by a Chennai based integral coach factory in 18 months with estimated cost of 100 Crore. Build as mentioned by ICF general manager ‘Sudhanshu Mani’ adding that the prototype will bring down the cost.
The coach of the train is fully AC with CCTV cameras and has two executive compartments in the middle with 52 seats each and designed in such a way that passengers can look at the Driver’s Cabin easily. T18 trial will be conducted for three or four days.
T18 has diffused lighting automatic door and footsteps beside GPS based passenger information system. The door footsteps will come outside when the train will stop at a station to allow safety with comfort. It will ne unveiled on October 29.
