An auto drive on Railway Station in Bombay for humanatrian caused, Charged
In a noble cause, an auto driver on Virar railway station of Mumbai drive auto on railway platform to help a woman going under in Premature labour pain.
According to the local police, a couple was travelling in reserved compartment of disable persons, the woman was seven months pregnant. Due to heavy rains the train took a stop on the station and the woman started having labour pain.
Seeing his wife’s condition, the husband started panicking and rushed out of the compartment to ask for help. He found Gawad, whose auto was parked in the space allotted by Western Railway (WR) right next to platform number two. He urged Gawad to help him, following which, he brought his autorickshaw on the platform and rode towards Sanjeevani Hospital in Virar,” said police inspector Praveen Kumar Yadav, Virar RPF.
Due to the quick action of the auto-rickshaw driver, the woman delivered a healthy baby in the hospital. But he was charged by Railway police for violating rules. He was produced before the court but was released on bail with warning.
“Even though Gawad’s intentions were good, he has violated the rules. Driving on the platform could have injured commuters,” said Mr Yadav.
These kind of incidents keep alive the faith in humanity. Even though the act was risky and could have done more damage. But it was praiseworthy.
